Crocodiles vs Cockroaches: Sisodia Backs Gen-Z's Satirical Online Movement
Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia has publicly backed the 'Cockroach Janata Party' (CJP), a satirical online movement currently sweeping social media.

In an Instagram reel posted on May 20, Sisodia declared, "If there is a war between a crocodile and cockroaches, I will proudly stand with the Cockroach Janata Party."

The viral trend stems from a May 15 Supreme Court hearing where Chief Justice Surya Kant compared unqualified individuals entering certain professions to "cockroaches" and "parasites." Although he later clarified that the remarks were directed only at individuals with fake degrees and not the youth in general, the comment sparked a massive digital response.

On May 16, 30-year-old Abhijeet Dipke, a former AAP social media strategist, launched the CJP. Featuring a mock five-point manifesto focused on unemployment, education, healthcare, and government accountability, the movement quickly resonated with the youth. Within days, the CJP's Instagram account amassed over 6.6 million followers, with thousands registering online.

Sisodia amplified the narrative, framing ordinary citizens struggling with inflation, exam leaks, and stagnant wages as "cockroaches" fighting systemic "crocodiles." He noted that when a system becomes a cesspool, cockroaches naturally emerge, adding that he considers himself one of them.

The movement has drawn mixed reactions. While Gen-Z users are praising it as a creative outlet to protest systemic issues and a 17 percent unemployment rate, critics suspect a hidden political agenda, pointing to Dipke’s past ties with AAP leaders. Though strictly an unregistered digital meme platform for now, the CJP continues to gain traction, drawing online reactions from leaders across various political parties.
