Telangana to change the names of six new districts
The Telangana Government has decided to change the names of six new districts that were formed on Dasara. The new districts were named after the district headquarters. By considering the suggestions from various sections of people, the Telangana government decided to change the names of the six districts.
The Telangana state cabinet met on Wednesday took the decision in this regard. Accordingly, the districts will be named as Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Yadadri Bhongir, Jogulamba Gadwal, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Rajanna Sircilla and Jayashankar Bhupalapalli.
The state cabinet formed a subcommittee headed by Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari to look into the financial position of universities, appointments and admissions with an objective of bringing commonality and improve standards of education.
Another subcommittee headed by Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Talasani Srinivas Yadav will study the scope of sheep/goat rearing and fisheries as one of the major economic activities in the State.
