Strict CRZ norms affect Beach Toursim In AP

Andhra Pradesh is in dire need of investments. It devised plans to develop beach tourism. AP has 974km coastline. Alongside of coastlines, the government wants to develop tourism by ways of leisure tourism, water sports, lighthouse tourism etc. Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) norms fear the investors to stay away from the beach tourism projects. During investors meeting in Vizag, about 33 investors from various parts of the country has shown interest to set up hotels and other tourism related amusements alongside coastline subject to easing of CRZ norms. Government officials explained their inability to ease the norms as they fear that environmentalists and fishermen oppose the move.However, they would like to negotiate with union government to ease CRZ norms.
