Tummala Nageshwar Rao slams Cong padayatra

Hyderabad, Oct.6: Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao today ridiculed the opposition for taking up padayatras. Addressing a press conference along with MLC Palla Rajeswahar Reddy the minister lashed out at the opposition for ignoring the plight of the farmers’ suicides during the Congress regime. He attributed the suicides to the lopsided policies and inefficiency of the previous governments. Though the people discarded them the Congress is taking meaningless Mahajana Padayatras he alleged. The Congress leaders are getting envious over the welfare schemes being implemented the minister charged. Afraid of bleak future the congress is resorting to mud-slinging on the government schemes for political mileage he said. Farmers and people are happy with the government and there is no use of such padayatra dramas he noted. The government is for the cause of the farmers and the poor and wade out of the power crisis, the minister said. Besides 9 hour power supply the government is able to supply seeds and fertilizers on demand besides implementing welfare schemes in a big way. KCR offered 43 per cent fitment to the state employees though they did not seek he claimed. We will not stop the welfare schemes irrespective of huge funds Nageshwar Rao maintained. Telangana State is maintaining better relations with the Centre compared to Andhra Pradesh he said. The TRS is for the welfare of the people and the government will not deceive the people. He suggested that the opposition should stop making false allegations and criticism over the development programs. Rajeshwar Reddy took exception to the Congress for taking up Mahajana Padayatra. The Congress ignored the farmers’ welfare and CPM did not support the cause of the statehood he said. The MLC alleged that the congress is playing dramas for cheap publicity and making baseless criticism.
