Sushruta’s father-in-law dies of stroke in jail

Hyderabad, Sept.18: One Shankar Rao of Poosalabasti in Saidabad, who was lodged in Chanchalguda Jail as a remand prisoner in the wake of the suicide of his daughter-in-law Sushruta last week, died of heart-attack this morning. It may be mentioned here that young housewife Sushruta committed suicide last week after her husband severely beat her on pretext of using water heater for long time. When Sushruta was taking bath in nude, her husband allegedly ran into the bathroom, dragged her out and severely beat her up in the presence of other family members. Heart-broken with the bestial incident, Sushruta left a message to her father in Whatsapp and took to the extreme step. As the news broke, the police rushed to the spot and arrested her husband and his father Shankar Rao and sent them to Chanchalguda Jail for remand. Shocked with the unforeseen events, Shankar Rao suffered heart attack and died in the jail. The body was sent to Osmania General Hospital for autopsy.
