Governor couple takes holy dip, visits Jogulamba Temple
Hyderabad, Aug.20: Governor ESL Narasimhan today praised that Jogulamba Temple is noted with historic importance.
Along with the first lady Vimala Narasimhan, the Governor on Saturday had a holy dip at the Gondimalla Pushkar Ghat in Mahbubnagar and offered silk clothes to the river as part of Krishna Pushkaralu to be culminated on August 23. Later, he made a visit to the temple and had a darshan of the presiding deity.
The Governor couple attended special pujas performed on the occasion while the main priests and officials gave them a rousing reception earlier. The Governor stated that Jogulamba Shakthi Peetham is among the 18 noted shakti peethams in the country which needs a facelift.
He felt the need for developing the Jogulamba temple and make it a tourist destination. “I will speak to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to develop the temple”, Narasimhan said.
Earlier, Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao, Dr. C Lakshma Reddy, MLA Srinivas Goud and Collector Sridevi received them.
