Officials must send their kids to govt schools: HC

Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh): The Allahabad High Court said that all the State government employees, elected representatives and judicial officers should send their children to government schools to improve the education system. The court pronounced the landmark judgement yesterday while hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on functioning of government schools. The Court directed the the state Chief Secretary to ensure that all those who draw salaries from the state government send their children to government school. The Court said that action would be initiated on the officials who refuse to comply with the order. The government employees who send their children to private schools should deposit the same amount of fee with the state government every month, it opined.
