Water level in Hussainsagar crosses danger mark

Hyderabad, Sept.22: Water level in the Hussainsagar lake has touched the danger mark following heavy rains in the last two days. Though the authorities were releasing the water after it reached its full capacity level, flood waters from nearby areas were constantly flowing into the lake due to intermittent heavy rains in the catchment areas. The authorities are now planning to release more water from Hussainsagar as the water level has reached beyond its capacity which crossed danger level. The Hussainsagar water also gushed into Lumbini Park on the bank of the lake. The water did not reach Lumbini Park earlier even after rains. But this was the first time after 15 years that the lake water entered Lumbini Park. Civic authorities have given an alert to the people living on the banks of Hussainsagar nala and have taken measures to evacuate people to safer places.
