CPIM opposes Kavali atomic power project

The CPIM has become an NGO in Andhra Pradesh opposing atomic power projects that are expected to come up at Kavali near Nellore and Kovvada in North Coastal Andhra. Expressing his anger over the Kavali atomic power project, CPIM state unit general secretary Madhu told newsmen in Nellore that the State government was taking up anti-people policies such as the atomic power projects in a one-sided manner. The government was doing so by bowing to the wishes of the superpower USA and had agreed for the Kavali atomic power project. Madhu stated that the local people were opposed to the project. They were preparing to agitate against the project.
