SHRC takes cognizance of SDEH incident, issues notices

Hyderabad, July 8: The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has expressed anger on the Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital incident in which 13 persons have lost their eye vision on Friday. The SHRC, which has taken up the case as suo moto and issued notices to the Chief Secretary, Medical and Health Principal Secretary and Sarojini Devi Hospital’s Superintendent Laxmi asking them to submit a comprehensive report before July 21. It may recalled that the doctors escaped from the incident stating that the LR Liquid, which caused loss of eye vision of 13 persons, was supplied by the State government only. The State government has already appointed a committee for the interrogation of the incident.
