TDP trying to stop Palamur project: Harish

Hyderabad, June 12: Telangana Minister Harish Rao alleged that Telugu Desam leaders were trying to stop the Palamur lift irrigation project that provides water to Hyderabad. Speaking at a press meet held at Telangana Bhavan here this morning, he criticised that TDP had agreed to give water to Chennai, which was not within the limits of Krishna basin, but denied the same to HMDA that comes under the Krishna basin. Despite living in Hyderabad, these leaders were trying to hinder the development of Hyderabad, he said, and gave a call to the public to question the TDP on its stand. Harish Rao said permission and DPR for Dindi Project came before the State's bifurcation. He pointed out that the former government had decided to conduct a survey for Palamur lift irrigation scheme and to use 70 tmc ft water under this scheme.
