A fire accident and cylinder explosion happened during a meeting of BRS in Telangana's Khammam district. The incident occurred on Wednesday when some party workers burst firecrackers, causing a nearby hut to catch fire. The fire led to the explosion of a cooking gas cylinder, killing one person and injuring eight others, including a policeman and two journalists. Some of the injured people lost their limbs in the blast. The firecrackers were being burst to welcome party leaders, including Khammam MP Nama Nageswara Rao and MLA Ramulu Naik, who were attending the meeting.
