Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar chopper makes emergency landing

Tamil Nadu: On Wednesday morning, a helicopter carrying The Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar made an emergency landing at Ukiniyam, a tribal hamlet in Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve (STR) in Erode district of Tamil Nadu due to bad weather.

According to Kadambur police, who arrived at the scene, Ravi Shankar and the three others on board were safe. Ravi Shankar was traveling from Bengaluru to Tirupur on a private chopper. Along with him, his two assistants and the pilot were also on board the helicopter.

The pilot, who had been flying above the STR around 10.15 am, had to make an emergency landing at Ukiniyam due to the inclement weather conditions. The State treasurer of the Tamil Nadu Pazhangudi Makkal Sangam, K Ramasamy, who was called to the scene upon the request of former CPI MLA P L Sundaram, arrived at the Ukiniyam hamlet and reported that by the time he reached the spot, the chopper had received clearance to proceed further.
