Talasani flays Marri for opposing Sports complex

Hyderabad, Nov.26: Animal Husbandry & Fisheries Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said the Labour Ministry has agreed to give land for construction of a sports complex in 1250 sq yards at Sanathnagar welfare ground. Foundation for the same was laid and works worth Rs 5 crore will be taken up after taking consent from the Labour Ministry, he said. The minister went round the ground along with officials concerned and interacted with locals. Talking to the media today, the minister flayed that Congress leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy was making false criticism on the sports complex. During previous Congress regime, Shashidhar Reddy failed to construct sports complex and gave it to PF office and now coming in the way of development works, he charged. He also said he would talk to Home and Labour Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy for the land to be given to GHMC and the government will provide alternative land. Keeping the locals’ demand in view, the State government was planning to construct it at the ground as it provides more space, he said. The minister directed the officials to construct individual toilets by spending Rs 12,000 each to be borne by Rs 4000 by the Centre and Rs 8000 by the GHMC, develop Balkampet cemetery on the lines of Maha Prasthanam. When he asked, the Labour Commissioner informed that they will regularize the houses at Nagarajeshwari Nagar basti.
