Paytm@ Rs 120 cr worth daily deals

It seems currency demonetization has become boon to digital payment platforms. Paytm has witnessed over 7 million transactions worth around Rs.120 cr per day. Taking cue from the currency ban Paytm changed its advertisement strategy which helped this one of the India's leading online platform to cross 5 bn$ GMV (Gross Merchandise Volume) sales 4 months ahead of its planned target. Currently Paytm has more than 150 million mobile wallet users. Over 10 lakh offline tradesman accept Paytm for the payment including restaurants, taxis, petrol pumps, coffee shops, grocery shops, multiplex etc. Sudhanshu Gupta, Paytm Vice President said "Paytm is registering more than 7 million transactions which worth Rs 120 crore in a day as millions of merchants and consumers across the nation try mobile payments on Paytm payment platform for first time" According to Sudhanshu, at present Paytm doing more transactions than that of the combined daily usage average of debit and credit cards in India.
