Jungle raj in Bihar turns goonda raj

While Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his ministerial colleagues chafe at Bihar being decribed as Jungle Raj, they perhaps would not mind the appellation of goonda raj. On June 7, there was a kidnap in broad daylight in Patna, which went viral, much to the chagrin of Bihar Ministry. Nitish Kumar had specifically said that law and order in Bihar would be maintained. But the video exposes the Bihar scene. On June 7, three students were going on their mobike. A speeding car overtook them and the mobike had to be stopped. The car passengers got down and thrashed the students. After the beating they dragged and pushed one of the pillion riders and kidnapped him in the car. The whole operation was captured on CCTV atop a building near the spot. As it went viral, there will again be mutual recriminations between the Bihari leaders and media organisations. The poeple have not forgotten the recent shooting down of a youth in a car for the fault of overtaking the SUV of a VIP scion.
