AB DeVilliers happy to reach team for IPL final

The star of Royal Challengers Bangalore success, AB DeVilliers, has said he is awaiting the big day for the past 6 years. Now that the big day was in striking distance, he was overjoyed. He would be playing the IPL final with the winner of Kolkata Night Riders and Sunrisers of Hyderabad. When he had the opportunity to have a go at the IPL final he would use it to the hilt. He had won Tuesday's semi-final With Gujarat Lions single handed after Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli were bowled out cheaply. He scored 79 runs off 45 balls. DeVillers said every innings that helped the team to make progress in a tournament was precious enough. As for himself, he did not go by numbers -- centuries, half-centuries and so on. Those were just numbers, but he was more interested in the manner of playing. Once you get down to batting, the numbers keep accruing. As for the RCB, the South African cricketer said the dressing room was healthy enough. Captain Virat Kohli lauded DeVilliers as the best batsman currently.
