Amaravati: The Supreme Court asserted to not fast-track the Amaravati cases and rejected the plea filed by the Andhra Pradesh government. The bench, led by Justice KM Joseph, has decided to hear the case on the 28th of this month, rejecting the plea made by the lawyers representing the AP government to hear the case before that date. Justice KM Joseph has pointed out that there are many constitutional issues involved in the Amaravati case. However, the lawyers representing the AP government have argued that hearing the case on a single day, which is the 28th, is not enough, and have requested for the hearing to be conducted on the 29th and 30th as well. The bench, however, has reminded them of the circular issued by the CJI, stating that inquiries should not be conducted for cases where notices are given on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The request made by the counsel for the AP government to make a special reference
