G. Kishan Reddy, the union minister for tourism, claimed that the BJP had made it very clear that it supported Amaravati's growth as the state capital and that he had no contrary views. In the party, there was agreement on it, he claimed. On October 17, Mr. Kishan Reddy told the media during a brief interview at the Vijayawada airport before leaving for a day trip to Guntur and Eluru that the BJP supported Amaravati as the capital and that this was a position adopted by the party's central leadership. He said there is no difference of opinion within BJP cadre.
