Volker Wissin, Germany's Federal Minister for Digital and Transport, recently demonstrated India's robust digital infrastructure by using the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) for a payment transaction. The German Embassy in India praised India's achievements in the digital sphere and highlighted the minister's appreciation for the smooth UPI transaction experience. UPI accounts for a significant portion of India's digital payments, with more than 9 billion transactions occurring monthly as of 2023. Remarkably, nations such as Sri Lanka, France, UAE, and Singapore have joined hands with India to collaborate on innovative fintech and payment solutions. Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi announced India's collaboration with France to implement the UPI payment mechanism.
