Nirmal: The Kadem Project in Nirmal district is brimming with water as heavy rains have caused a substantial influx of floodwater. A staggering 3 lakh 87 thousand cusecs of water poured into the project from upstream sources. Currently, the water level stands at 697 feet, just shy of the full capacity of 700 feet. To manage the rising water levels, officials have taken the necessary precaution of opening 14 flood gates and releasing 2 lakh 47 thousand cusecs of water downstream. As a result, residents in low-lying areas are evacuating to ensure their safety. The continuous inflow of floodwater into the project has been ongoing since the 15th of this month. The situation has not only attracted officials' attention but also caught the interest of tourists from the joint districts of Adilabad, Karimnagar, and Nizamabad.
