Hyderabad experienced intense rainfall and thunderstorms on Monday evening, leading to massive traffic congestion in the city known for its IT industry. The heavy downpour started around 6 p.m., right at the time when most office workers were heading home after their workday. This resulted in significant challenges for commuters. The adverse weather conditions caused the uprooting of numerous trees across different areas of the city. Moreover, several roads became waterlogged, making travel even more difficult for the residents. In response to the situation, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has put all its officials on high alert. Their primary focus is on managing any rain-related issues and providing necessary assistance to the people in need. The municipal government has also advised residents to stay indoors and take precautions, as the heavy rains are expected to persist for several more hours.
