Hyderabad: In a distressing incident, Chief Wildlife Warden Lokesh Jayaswal has directed officials to file a case against the perpetrators responsible for the illegal chopping of seven red sandalwood trees within the Thamin deer enclosure at Hyderabad's Nehru Zoological Park on Thursday. Authorities informed that some of the missing wood material was found scattered outside the vicinity of the zoo, indicating the severity of the act. A comprehensive inquiry is currently underway, conducted by the zoo authorities, to ascertain the identities of the individuals involved in the vandalism. The Park's director and curator have been urged to submit a detailed report within a week, outlining the circumstances of the incident and outlining preventive measures for the future.
