On Wednesday, the Rashtrapati Bhavan hosted the conferring of the prestigious Padma Bhushan award upon Sudha Murthy, an accomplished author and philanthropist, by President Droupadi Murmu. UK's First Lady, Akshata Murty, was also present at the event, along with other family members. While some reports suggest that she initially sat with her relatives, she was later requested to move to the front row as per the protocol. In the front row, Akshata Murty was seen sitting beside S Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister, and other distinguished personalities. Notably, there was no UK security personnel present with Rishi Sunak's wife, the UK Prime Minister's wife, at the ceremony, as per a media channel report. Additionally, Sudha Murty's spouse and Infosys co-founder, N R Narayana Murthy, graced the event with his presence.
