Amaravati: Chaos erupted during the annual budget presentation for 2023-24 as members of the opposition party, TDP, staged an agitation in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly. Finance Minister Buggana Rajendra Prasad was presenting the budget when TDP members threw papers on the Speaker's podium, causing an uproar. Reacting to the disturbance, Chief Minister Jagan expressed his anger and recommended the suspension of the TDP members to the Speaker. The Speaker subsequently suspended 14 TDP members for a day. CM Jagan criticized the TDP members for deliberately causing chaos during the budget presentation, which he deemed unfair to the public. He suggested that the TDP members be sent out of the assembly before continuing with the presentation.
