India has taken the lead in the three-match T20I series after easily defeating the Blackcaps in the second T20I at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. Indian bowlers started off their defence with some outstanding bowling. While Deepak Hooda didn't help with the bat, he did have a successful spell, taking 4 for 10. In the 19th over, he took three wickets to end the innings. Earlier, India reached 191 for 6 thanks to Suryakumar Yadav's unbeaten 111 off 51 balls. In response, New Zealand scored only 126 runs before their innings was finished in 18.5 overs due to a lack of wickets. Tim Southee earlier in the day also finished off his hat trick.
