North Andhra residents have criticised the Mahapadayatra, that farmers from Amaravati to Arasavalli organised in an effort to keep Amaravati as the only capital of Andhra Pradesh. Dharmana Prasada Rao, an AP minister, made outrageous remarks about the Amaravati Padayatra, claiming that it was organised to promote real estate development. The Minister has urged the people of North Andhra not to miss the opportunity and asked them to vigorously oppose such protests while criticising TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu's strategy. If Chief Minister Jagan grants him permission, AP Minister stated, he was considering leaving his position as minister and joining the agitation of North Andhra people. What made Amaravati people preventing one of the capitals to Visakhapatnam, Dharmana Prasada Rao wondered. He said that Visakha becoming the capital is the only way for North Andhra to have a bright future. He demanded that everyone should fight for the cause of Visakhapatnam as a capital.
