At the Secunderabad Gymkhana Grounds on Thursday, a pandemonium broke out, causing some persons to lose consciousness and injuring quite a few others. A woman was observed getting CPR as she fainted due to a stampede-like circumstance. Many of the women in the throng were taken to the hospital after they became unconscious. People present claimed that since there were only four counters put up, the ticket sales arrangements were insufficient. Nearly 10,000 people flocked to buy tickets for the India-Australia cricket match scheduled for September 25. Police were forced to use lathi charges to stop the rush. The match was scheduled to take place at the Uppal stadium in Hyderabad, and the Hyderabad Cricket Association organised ticket sales at the Gymkhana Grounds. People could be spotted waiting in long, winding lines for the tickets as early in the morning.
