Woman Duped by Aghori; Remanded to Judicial Custody
An aghori accused of defrauding a woman of ₹10 lakh under the pretext of performing special rituals has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody by the Chevella court. Based on the woman’s complaint, the police took the aghori into custody and presented him before the court.
According to details, a woman had approached the aghori seeking solutions to her personal problems. The aghori allegedly convinced her that her difficulties would be resolved through special rituals. Trusting his assurances, the woman reportedly paid him nearly ₹10 lakh in installments. However, when her problems persisted and suspicions arose regarding the aghori’s behavior, she approached the police.
Following the complaint, the police registered a case and detained the aghori. He was subsequently presented before a magistrate in the Chevella court. After considering preliminary evidence and arguments, the magistrate issued orders remanding the aghori to judicial custody. He was later transferred to the Sangareddy sub-jail.
In response to the case, the aghori stated that the matter is currently under court investigation and that he is fully cooperating with the police inquiry.
It is also known that the aghori recently married a woman named Varshini. The couple was traced by police near the border between Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. The aghori was taken into custody and shifted to the Narsingi police station, while Varshini was reportedly sent to a counseling center.
