Minister Sridhar Babu Responds to Notices Issued to Smita Sabharwal
Telangana Minister Sridhar Babu has clarified that the government will proceed strictly according to the law in response to a social media post by Indian Administrative Service officer Smita Sabharwal regarding the Kanch Gachibowli land issue. His remarks came after police issued notices to Smita Sabharwal for sharing an artificial intelligence-generated photograph.

Sridhar Babu emphasized that the Telangana government would fully comply with the Supreme Court’s directives in the matter. He recalled that the Supreme Court had clearly stated that the Kanch Gachibowli lands belong to the government. The minister expressed concern that fake videos and photos were undermining all institutions.

He further stated that, since the issue of the lands is currently under judicial consideration, the government cannot comment further. Regarding visuals of peacocks appearing in residential areas, he said such sightings were a natural occurrence.

Sridhar Babu alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comments on the Kanch Gachibowli lands were based on misinformation provided by leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana. He accused political opponents of conspiring to weaken the Congress-led government. “Ours is not a government that will collapse under pressure,” he said.

The minister also voiced suspicion that the BJP and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) were jointly conspiring against the Congress government.
