Telangana By-Elections Inevitable, Says KTR Amid Court Case

The Supreme Court is set to hear a petition filed by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) today, seeking action against 10 legislators who were elected on a BRS ticket but later defected to the Congress. The apex court had previously questioned the Telangana Assembly Speaker regarding the timeline for taking action against these MLAs. During a hearing on February 10, the court warned that if the Speaker failed to act within a specified timeframe, the court itself would have to intervene. Given this context, there is heightened anticipation regarding the Supreme Court's decision in today’s proceedings.

Meanwhile, BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) made notable remarks on the matter. He expressed confidence that the rebel legislators would face disqualification and asserted that by-elections in Telangana were inevitable. KTR called upon BRS cadre to be prepared for the upcoming electoral battle.
