Shanghai restaurant enters Guinness Book of World Records

Hyderabad: A restaurant in Shanghai, one of China's major cities, entered the Guinness Book of World Records. The uniqueness of that restaurant is at 555.36 metres height and it is located on the 120th floor of the famous Shanghai Towers.

It belongs to Jay Hotels Group and it is also known as Heavenly Gin Restaurant. Sitting in this restaurant makes you feel like you are floating in the clouds. It has an open kitchen. Guests arriving at the hotel can enter the kitchen and observe for themselves how the dishes are being made. Up to 256 people can dine at a time. There are also five private dining rooms.

Heavenly Gin, meanwhile, has overtaken the Dubai-based Atmosphere Restaurant as the latter was holding the  Guinness World Records till then. Atmosphere Restaurant measures 441.3 metres in height. The Jay Hotel Group is owned by the Chinese government. One of the hotels was set up in the Shanghai Towers. Shanghai Towers is the third tallest tower in the world at 632 metres.
