Telangana High Court Issues Key Directions on Theater Timings for Children Under 16
The Telangana High Court has issued significant directions regarding children under the age of 16 visiting movie theaters. The court emphasized that children below 16 years should not be allowed into theaters between 11 PM and 11 AM. It suggested that a final decision on this matter be made after consulting all relevant stakeholders.

The High Court conducted a hearing on Monday regarding petitions filed on issues such as an increase in movie ticket prices and the granting of permissions for special shows. During the hearing, the petitioner’s advocate argued that children attending late-night shows negatively impacts their health.

Justice B. Vijayasen Reddy’s bench concurred with the petitioner’s concerns and issued interim directions prohibiting the entry of children under 16 into theaters during the specified time frame. The court adjourned the matter for further hearing on February 22.
