AP likely to announce pay hike decision on Monday

Hyderabad, Feb 8, 2015:The AP Government will take a decision on Monday on the implementation of the PRC recommendations on salary hike for its employees. The cabinet sub committee on PRC recommendations will meet Monday evening and submit a report to the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu immediately. Later, Chandrababu Naidu will discuss the issue with the employees' leaders and make an announcement on pay hike for employees. The AP Government seems to be of the opinion that the proposed hike in salaries of its employees should not be lower to the one announced by the Telangana Government for its employees, according to reports. However, keeping in mind the delicate financial position of the government, Chandrababu Naidu wants to implement the new scales not with retrospective effect but from April 2015 onward. In fact, a few days ago, when the employees' leaders met the Chief Minister seeking a decision on the pay hike, Chandrababu told them that the Government was not in a position to afford the hike in the salaries.
