Delhi sees season's coldest day

New Delhi, Dec 28 : Delhiites Sunday saw the season's coldest day at 2.6 degrees Celsius, five notches below average, as dense fog brought down visibility below 50 metres and delayed 78 trains and 73 flights. Monday is expected to see similar weather, the Met department said. The Indira Gandhi International airport said the poor visibility due to the fog delayed 73 flights, while four were cancelled. Road traffic was also hit due to the dense fog. Most motorists drove slowly, with their headlights on even in the morning. "It was literally impossible to drive my bike in the fog. I was unable to see beyond 10 metres. It's a bone-chilling day," said Ram Kishore after crossing on his motorbike the DND flyway that links Delhi and Noida. Sunday's maximum temperature was recorded at 18.3 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average.
