Brave mother saves baby from leopard attack

A woman in Uttarakhand fought with a leopard to save her baby in the cradle recently. As their house was on the edge of a forest, the leopard entered the house and got close to the cradle in which the baby was sleeping. The mother who heard an animal's foot sound saw to her horror that it was a leopard. She took out a sickle and attacked the animal. Both the mother and the leopard made huge noises. This alerted the neighbours who came running into the house and beat the animal to death. The mother saved the baby, and the neighbourhood praised her for the bravery. The government officials who got to know about the act of mother's bravery came and got her admitted to a hospital for her injuries to heal.
