KCR's lucky number wins the day as for districts

Number 6 suits Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao perfectly. Knowing his numbers weakness, the bureaucrats led by Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma changed their earlier recommendation of the new State having 23 districts to add one more, Sircilla, for the benefit of KCR. Thus the increased number of districts Telangana will be having is now 24, thanks to bureaucrats heeding the numerological call of KCR. When you are increasing the number of districts from 10 to 23, why not 24 to suit numerology seems to be the argument of the bureaucrats. The district collectors were meeting since yesterday to thrash out, among other things, the number of new districts. The Chief Minister, who is expected to address them, will in all likelihood declare the number of districts. The increase in the number of districts is primarily aimed at adminsitrative ease and better governance. This might mean the leading political parties can accommodate more number of their candidates in the elections with the increase in the number of districts.
