AP energy efficiency being replicated in country: CM
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed all the District Collectors in the State to ensure that LED bulbs and other energy-efficient 5-Star rated electrical appliances be distributed to all the State government offices and schools for achieving substantial energy savings.
In the recent District Collectors’ Conference in Vijayawada, the Chief Minister reiterated the point.
Achieving energy efficiency is one of the top most priorities of the Chief Minister, whose vision is to make Andhra Pradesh No.1 in this regard.
In the prestigious Navanirmana Deeksha – Mahasankalpam, the Chief Minister highlighted energy efficiency programmes which won laurels of the national and international agencies. The programmes implemented in AP were being closely watched by the Government of India with an intention to replicate the "successful implementation AP strategy."
Around two crore LED bulbs have been distributed to one crore families in the state and another 3.45 lakh LED Street Lights have been installed as against 5.5 lakh LED Street Lights.
Disclosing the details, Ajay Jain, Principal Secretary/Energy and Vice- Chairman/AP State Energy Conservation Mission, said he had written a letter to all the District Collectors, requesting them to furnish the details of the existing electrical appliances in all government buildings.
Ajay Jain requested all the District Collectors to take proactive action in tune with the objectives of the State government.
