Don't invite me for capital foundation: Jagan

Hyderabad, Oct 15: YSRCP chief and Leader of Opposition in AP Assembly YS Jagamohan Reddy has asked Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu not to invite him for foundation-stone laying ceremony of capital city Amaravati. Jagan asked the government not to blame him for skipping the event even after sending invitation. He shot a three page open letter to AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today. In the letter, Jagan alleged that government forcibly acquired fertile agriculture lands from farmers despite the stiff opposition from several quarters. Jagan strongly condemned the imposition of Section 144 and 30 in CRDA region. He questioned the need to enforce prohibitory orders for the past one year when the people were happy with the performance of government. Jagan said that he has decided to skip the event in protest against the flagrant violation of National Green Tribunal orders and for ignoring the prevailing strong public sentiment. He wondered the need to rope in Singapore companies when the Centre is assuring all the necessary help. Ruling party members purchased vast tracts of land near the capital in the name of benamis. government exempted their lands from the project and forcibly acquired small holdings of poor peasants. He said that government planned to spend Rs 400 crore public money for a single day programme.
