Chandrababu getting Rs.300 Cr kickbacks in Pattiseema project: Jagan
Vijayawada, April 16, 2015: YSR Congress party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday alleged that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is getting Rs.300 Cr as kickbacks in Pattiseema project.
Jagan Mohan Reddy visited Prakasam Barrage here and spoke to the engineers. He later addressed some farmers who came there to meet him.
"The engineers at Prakasam barrage told me that the water storage capacity here is 3 TMC. In such a situation, how can the water from Godavari river be directed here and stored?" he asked during the press meet.
Both Krishna and Godavari are flooded generally during the rainy season and most of the water goes into sea."We can store such waste-going water through Polavaram project only and not through Pattiseema Project," Jagan Mohan Reddy said.
He elaborated saying that Polavaram project can store 124 TMC of water and after the floods, 80 TMC of water can be released through right canal and 24 TMC of water through left canal.
"The Government is trying to put such a useful project in cold storage.Once the Pattiseema project is completed, Karnataka and Maharashtra governments will stop releasing 35 TMC water to us. Knowing this full well, Chandrababu is going ahead with the Project for benefiting the contractors, " Jagan Mohan Reddy averred.
