The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) has asked for a Prisoner in Transit (PT) warrant for former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who is currently in jail at Rajamahendravaram Central Prison. The CID has filed a petition in the ACB court to issue this warrant in connection with the Amaravati Inner Ring Road (IRR) case, which was registered in 2022. The case stems from a complaint filed by Mangalagiri YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy. After their preliminary investigation, the CID concluded that the then Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Municipal and Urban Development Minister P Narayana had intentionally altered the alignment of the inner ring road to benefit Lingamaneni Ramesh and his companies. Chandrababu Naidu, who also served as the ex-officio chairman of the APCRDA, allegedly favored certain individuals in the transfer of 500 acres of assigned lands and the adjustment of the IRR route.
