In response to the uproar caused by India's name change issue, the United Nations (UN) has stated that they are open to considering requests from countries regarding name changes. Farhan Haque, the UN's spokesperson, mentioned that Turkey changed its name to Turkiye last year, and the UN responded positively to their official request. Haque added that if any country seeks to change its name, the UN will promptly review those requests. This matter has sparked a verbal battle between the ruling party and the opposition due to the invitations for the G20 summit, which feature the title "President of Bharat" instead of "President of India." The UN's stance on name changes aims to address such situations and facilitate diplomatic solutions.
