In a recent decision, the Central Election Commission has instructed the State Election Commission to officially announce DK Aruna as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Gadwal Assembly Constituency. This direction was communicated through a letter sent to the Chief Electoral Officer of the state. Additionally, the orders of the High Court pertaining to this matter will be published in the upcoming official gazette. The decision follows a recent ruling by the High Court that declared the election of B. Krishnamohan Reddy as the Gadwal MLA for Jogulamba district to be invalid. This was due to Krishnamohan Reddy's submission of false information in his nomination affidavit. As a consequence, he was fined Rs 2.50 lakh as a penalty. The High Court also ordered him to pay Rs. 50,000 as expenses to petitioner DK Aruna.
