The Union Ministry of Law has issued the necessary orders in connection with Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur's appointment, who hails from Jammu and Kashmir and currently serves as a judge in the Bombay High Court. The appointment of Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur comes as a crucial step in the legal hierarchy after his predecessor, Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra, was promoted to the Supreme Court, leaving the position of Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court vacant. During this period, Justice A.V. Seshasai is entrusted with the responsibilities of the acting Chief Justice.
