Hyderabad: The appearance of a rare cat species called Civet (Punugupilli) wandering in the old city of Hyderabad has caused quite a sensation. The sight of this wild Civet roaming through the city's streets took everyone by surprise. Residents in the Bahadurpura Kishan Bagh area spotted the Civet climbing a building, and after a detailed discussion with the concerned neighbors, they informed the zoo authorities about this extraordinary find. Diligent efforts from the zoo staff led to the successful capture of the Civet after an hour-long pursuit. Interestingly, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam is actively involved in breeding these rare Civets, and they even have a special service called "Punugu ginneseva" organized for Swami every week. The oil collected from Punugupilli is reported to be used for the idol of Srivari.
