The Supreme Court has deferred the hearing of the petitions filed against the Amaravati capital development to December of this year. Representing the state government, former Attorney General KK Venugopal urgently appealed to the bench to consider the case. However, the judicial bench composed of Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice Bela M Trivedi responded that an immediate investigation was not feasible and consequently, postponed the hearing to December. Previously, the Supreme Court had paused the order from the High Court to construct the Amaravati capital within a six-month timeframe. Despite this, the central government issued court notices to the respondents. The case, initially presided over by Justice Joseph, who has since retired, was transferred to the bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice Bela M Trivedi, continuing the judicial review of the Amaravati capital case.
