Amaravati: In response to the ongoing heatwave conditions, the School Education Department of Andhra Pradesh has taken a proactive step by extending the half-day school schedule for an additional week, now stretching until June 24. In an official statement issued on Sunday, the department of the School Education underscored the importance of implementing the extended half-day school norm in all government and private schools across the state. Under this arrangement, schools will operate from 7.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m., allowing students to conclude their academic activities earlier in the day. Recognizing the significance of student well-being during scorching temperatures, raagi porridge would be provided to students from 8.30 a.m. to 9 a.m. This nutritious offering aims to provide students with the necessary energy and sustenance to kickstart their day. Moreover, a mid-day meal will be served between 11.30 a.m. and 12 noon, ensuring that students receive adequate nutrition during their time at school.
