Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar has put an end to the recent four-day turmoil by announcing that he will not step down as the party chief. In a crowded media conference on Friday, the 83-year-old leader shared that his decision was met with strong sentiments from party workers, office-bearers, and colleagues, who were all disheartened by the news of his retirement. Pawar expressed his gratitude towards everyone who has shown him love, trust, and faith, and acknowledged the appeals made by all of them. He also stated that he is honoring the decision of the committee constituted by the party, and thus withdrawing his decision to retire. The announcement was met with a thunderous round of applause.
