Warangal: The dates for 2024 Asia's largest tribal festival Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Jatara have been confirmed. According to the sources, the four-day tribal fair will take place from February 21 to 24. As per tradition, on the first day, the idol of Sarakka will be carried from Kannepalli to Medaram, and Pagididda Raju’s idol from Poonugondla to Medaram. The second day will see Goddess Sammakka’s idol and the Kumkum casket brought to Medaram, along with Govinda Raju’s idol from Kondai village. On the third day, the devotees worshipped the forest deities, and on the final day, the Jatara will end with the “Tallula Vanapravesham”. The Kumkum casket (Sammakka) will be returned to Chilakalagutta and kept there until the next festival. Millions of devotees will offer prayers at Medaram during the festival.
