Hyderabad: A viral video of a mother elephant's heroic act of protecting her calf from a crocodile has sparked immense reactions on social media. The video, shared on Twitter by Indian Forest Service officer Susanta Nanda, captures the intense face-off between the elephant and the crocodile as it tries to harm the baby tusker. Susanta Nanda tweeted as "The extent to which elephants can go in protecting their calves is mind boggling. Here is a small incidence. The Crocodile had to surrender." The video opens with the baby elephant enjoying a dip in a muddy water body while its watchful mother stands guard. Suddenly, a massive crocodile appears from beneath the water and launches an attack on the innocent calf. However, the mother elephant quickly reacts, fiercely battling the crocodile and stepping on it until it retreats and escapes.
